TREND: digital innovation for tomorrow's manufacturing.

The TREND project is building a Digital Library (DTK) that connects production lines with intelligent robotics and inkjet printing technology. Research, industry and Trivitec work closely together on it.

About the project

Robotics and printing
in one production.

TREND is a research project on the manufacturing of the future. Together with our partners we are developing a Digital Library (DTK) that connects robotics and inkjet printing technology. Trivitec supplies the software and data analysis.

The vision

Production that thinks ahead
and prints precisely.

TREND combines modern inkjet printing technology with robot-controlled precision. Both feed into the Digital Library (DTK) and form the basis for efficient, flexible and intelligent manufacturing workflows.

In this way we push the limits of what is possible in manufacturing and prepare for production in which efficiency, flexibility and intelligence belong together.

Architecture

Printing and robotics
in one system.

In TREND's technical architecture, robotics and inkjet printing interlock. Each component has a clear task, controlled and analysed through shared software.

01

Robot arm

Performs precise movements and is therefore the executing element of manufacturing in the TREND ecosystem.

02

DTK and user interface

The Digital Library and the interface form the core of the architecture: they capture knowledge and workflows and make them operable.

03

ctrlX Local

Controls robotics and printing technology, brings data together and monitors production in real time.

04

Print system

Combines the accuracy of inkjet printing with versatility and enables sensor production on different surfaces.
